As a global IT services leader, HCLTech sought a signage partner to elevate its brand at its new East Coast headquarters. HCLTech envisioned a prominently illuminated sign throughout the night, but local regulations initially posed a hurdle. To achieve this goal and maintain its brand identity, PSCO determined that a variance from the city was necessary. The project management team swiftly initiated the process to secure the required approval.

PSCO’s engineering team crafted a solution featuring 8’-6” H” channel letters on the building exterior. To ensure visibility and energy efficiency, the sign incorporated commercial wireless lighting technology with a smart control system for progressive dimming throughout the evening. A variance was granted after a successful presentation to the city, allowing for extended illumination. PSCO engineered the signage to adhere to local regulations, incorporating a precise lighting control system. The schedule set for HCLTech was as follows: 100% illumination from dusk to 10 PM, 60% from 10 PM to midnight, and 30% from midnight to dawn.

The commercial wireless lighting system, equipped with an astronomical time clock, automatically adjusts to daylight changes, ensuring optimal performance and energy conservation. Upon approval, the solution was fabricated, and despite adverse weather conditions, PSCO’s installation team successfully completed the project on schedule.

To safeguard HCLTech’s brand investment, PSCO recommended incorporating commercial wireless lighting technology within each letter of the sign, enabling a 24/7 proactive maintenance approach. The lighting control system continuously monitors the sign’s status, alerting the PSCO maintenance and lighting team within five minutes of any issues. This ensures prompt service, pinpoints the exact outage, and minimizes downtime and costs, while maximizing uninterrupted brand visibility.
