Custom Engineered Exterior Architectural Signage for Innovative Healthcare Facility Project
Deborah Heart and Lung Center, a renowned healthcare facility, embarked on a significant expansion and renovation project to enhance patient care and experience. The Deborah100: The Project initiative involved constructing a new in-patient tower with modern private suites and renovating existing rooms.
Philadelphia Sign, part of the PSCO Sign Group, a leading provider of custom signage and architectural solutions, was tasked with creating a signage strategy that would complement the project’s innovative design and reinforce the Deborah Heart and Lung Center brand. A key challenge was integrating the signage into the unique exterior living wall, a five-story vertical garden that showcases a vibrant array of plants and flowers year-round.
To ensure seamless integration, Philadelphia Sign’s engineering team carefully considered factors such as sign mounting, water line placement, and long-term durability. They designed custom brackets that secured the sign without harming the plants or their water supply. The installation process was a delicate balancing act, with the sign structure and lighting elements being installed carefully in a phased approach. The Philadelphia Sign installation team first meticulously placed each bracket to ensure a precise fit for the signage. The sign structure was installed, followed by the lighting elements to ensure the brand was visible day and night. Finally, the “live wall” contractor then completed the remaining plant installation, adding the finishing touches to complete the elevation.
The final product was an exterior sign prominently displaying the hospital’s logo, reinforcing its brand identity. The signage not only enhanced the visual appeal of the new in-patient tower but also served as a valuable identification tool for facility patients and visitors.
By partnering with Philadelphia Sign, Deborah Heart and Lung Center successfully integrated signage into their innovative living wall project. This collaboration not only enhanced the hospital’s brand identity but also contributed to the overall success and impact of the healthcare facility’s expansion.
