Philadelphia Sign hosted the first Sign Manufacturing Day at the Corporate Headquarters located in Palmyra, NJ on Friday, October 4, 2019. Students thinking about working in the sign industry upon graduation in one of our sign fabrication plants, reserved a spot for company tour and to shadow in various departments in the manufacturing plant to gain insight on the day in the life of a sign maker.
The facility tours encourage students to explore exciting and diverse career opportunities and showcase the importance of sign manufacturing. High schools and colleges have struggled for decades to attract students to job-oriented classes ranging from welding to nursing. College is not the only path upon graduation. People with career and technical educations are actually slightly more likely to be employed than their counterparts with academic credentials, the U.S. Department of Education reports, and significantly more likely to be working in their fields of study. PSCO is working to spread the awareness and has jobs available for those that meet the criteria to work in the sign industry.
